Marseille Ochre Curve
Discover the timeless elegance of Marseille's architecture. This striking corner building, bathed in Mediterranean sunlight, evokes the city's rich history and vibrant spirit.
The Story
I was wandering through the Hôtel de Ville neighbourhood of Marseille, looking for interesting architectural details, when this building caught my eye. The way the light hit the curved facade, highlighting the ochre tones and the intricate ironwork, was simply stunning. I tilted my camera up to really capture the scale and the dramatic contrast with the impossibly blue sky – a classic Southern France sky.
It was late December, but the air was crisp and the sun felt warm. The details on the building, like the carved faces and the delicate balconies, spoke of a bygone era. Even the reflection in the shop window below added another layer, mirroring the sky and the feeling of being in a historic European city. It felt like a perfect moment, frozen in time, showcasing the enduring beauty of Marseille.
