Barcelona's Ocular Facade
Discover the distinctive architectural charm of Barcelona with this striking image of a modernist building. Its unique circular windows and dramatic sky capture the artistic spirit of Spain.
The Story
I was wandering through the Eixample district of Barcelona, looking for interesting architectural details, when this building caught my eye. The repetition of the circular windows, framed in that warm ochre, was immediately captivating. I got down low to emphasize the scale and the sky above.
The sky itself was quite dramatic that afternoon, with these incredible swirls of cloud that really added to the mood. The bare branches in the foreground provided a nice counterpoint to the clean lines of the building, a touch of nature's imperfection against the man-made structure.
It's moments like these, stumbling upon unexpected beauty in the urban landscape, that make travel photography so rewarding. This shot, taken in Barcelona, Spain, captures a small but memorable piece of the city's unique architectural identity.
