The Story

I was immediately struck by the sheer scale of these fortifications when I first saw them in Gharsi, Malta. The way the sun hit the ancient stone, turning it to gold, was breathtaking.

I wanted to capture that feeling of enduring history, so I chose a low angle to emphasize the height of the walls and the clock tower. The contrast between the warm stone and the bright blue sky felt so iconic of Malta.
