Palermo's Sunlit Square

The Story

Walking through Palermo, I was immediately struck by the sheer presence of these buildings. The way the light hit the ochre stone, making it almost glow against that incredibly dramatic sky – it was a moment I had to capture.

I positioned myself to really emphasize the scale of the architecture, letting the lush trees on the left frame the scene. Even with a few people milling about, the grandeur of the piazza felt palpable. It’s that blend of monumental history and the rhythm of daily life that makes Sicily so special.

I felt a real sense of warmth and vibrancy here, even on what was technically New Year's Eve. It’s a reminder that even in the most historic places, life continues to flourish, making every corner a potential masterpiece.
