The Story
Standing on a vantage point overlooking Palermo, I was struck by the sheer density of history palpable in the urban fabric. The afternoon sun was bright, creating strong contrasts and making the colours pop – the warm terracotta tiles, the pale stone of the buildings, and that incredible Sicilian blue sky.
The layers of architecture are fascinating, with ancient domes and spires competing for attention with more modern structures, all framed by the distant mountains and the shimmering sea. It felt like looking out over a living museum, a place where the past is not just remembered, but is an integral part of the present.
There's a certain energy in Palermo, even from this high up, a sense that life has been unfolding here for millennia. Capturing this scene felt like bottling a moment of pure Mediterranean sunshine and timeless elegance.
