Gothic Plaza Reflections
Experience the timeless allure of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, where ancient stones reflect the drama of a moody sky and the energy of daily life.
The Story
Standing in Plaça Sant Jaume, the weight of history is palpable. The air was cool and damp, the cobblestones slick with a recent shower, mirroring the dramatic, bruised clouds above. It felt like a moment suspended in time, with the stoic Romanesque and classical facades bearing silent witness to centuries of stories unfolding right here.
Despite the weather, the plaza was alive. Locals and visitors alike moved through the space, their figures softened by the diffused light and the reflections. I was drawn to the contrast – the enduring stone against the transient human presence, the muted colours punctuated by the occasional flash of vibrant clothing, a splash of colour against the grand, old theatre of the city.

How it lives on a wall

Captured in the heart,
of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter.
