Barcelona's Moody Facades

The Story

I was walking through the Eixample neighbourhood in Barcelona, Spain, on a late December afternoon when the sky turned this incredible shade of bruised grey. It had clearly just rained, as the streets were slick and reflecting the warm lights of the buildings and traffic signals.

The architecture here is just phenomenal – layers of balconies, intricate details, and these fantastic ochre and cream coloured facades. Even with the trees bare, there's such a sense of life and history in these buildings. I wanted to capture that feeling of quiet grandeur, the moments when the city feels contemplative, even in its usual bustle.
