Emerald Forest Floor
Step into a secret world bathed in dappled sunlight. These ancient horsetail plants create a vibrant, emerald curtain, whispering tales of the forest floor.
The Story
I was exploring a trail just outside Mill Valley, California, not far from the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, when I stumbled upon this incredible patch of horsetail. The way the light hit these plants was just magical – it made the green so intense, almost luminous.
The forest behind was dark and mysterious, creating such a beautiful contrast with the brightly lit foreground. I loved the intricate patterns of the horsetail; they look so alien and prehistoric, yet they were growing so abundantly right there. It felt like finding a hidden gem, a little pocket of pure, untamed nature.
It was a perfect summer afternoon, and the gentle sunlight filtering through the trees highlighted every delicate frond. I knelt down to get this perspective, wanting to immerse the viewer right into the heart of this lush undergrowth.
