Field Notes

The Story

I was exploring the hills near Sunol, California, on a bright spring day. The sunlight was hitting the tall grasses just right, creating this incredible play of light and shadow. I wanted to capture that feeling of being immersed in nature, with the world stretching out before you.

I used my NIKON Z 7 II to get up close to the grass, blurring the background to draw the viewer into the foreground. The bright blue sky and lush green landscape create a really uplifting and peaceful mood, like a perfect day unfolding.
