Marseille Sails Golden Quay

The Story

Standing on the Quai De Rive-Neuve, the sheer density of sailboats is breathtaking. Their tall masts create a complex, almost abstract, pattern against the impossibly blue sky. I was drawn to the contrast between the stark, dark silhouettes in the foreground (the boats and the lone walker) and the warm, golden hues of the buildings beyond.

The reflections in the water are almost as captivating as the structures themselves. They break up the light, adding a dynamic shimmer to the scene. It's moments like these, where the everyday becomes extraordinary through light and composition, that I love to capture. Marseille in winter still holds that unmistakable Mediterranean warmth, a feeling I tried to convey here.
