Portofino's Painted Harbour

The Story

Standing on the Molo Umberto I in Portofino, I was immediately struck by the sheer vibrancy of the waterfront. The sun was high, casting a beautiful light on the pastel facades of the buildings, making them practically glow. It was late December, but the weather was surprisingly mild, and the promenade was buzzing with people enjoying the sunshine and the sea breeze.

I loved how the deep blue of the Ligurian Sea contrasted with the cheerful architecture. The boats bobbing gently in the harbor, from the sleek modern yacht to a more traditional wooden fishing boat, added to the scene's authentic charm. In the distance, the hillsides dotted with houses created a stunning backdrop. It felt like stepping into a dream, a perfectly preserved slice of Italian coastal life.
