The Story

Standing on Hayfield Trail in Saratoga, California, the sheer abundance of California poppies was overwhelming. The bright orange blooms created a stunning contrast against the deep green of the hills and the impossibly blue sky.

The bare branches of an old tree, dotted with mistletoe, provided a dramatic focal point, drawing the eye across the field. I wanted to capture the feeling of the wind gently moving through the grasses and the flowers, a sense of vibrant life and the peak of spring.
