Causeway's Basalt Waves
Witness the raw power of nature at the Giant's Causeway, where ancient volcanic rock meets the relentless Atlantic, creating a spectacle of geological wonder.
The Story
Standing here on the Causeway Coast in Northern Ireland, the sheer scale of these hexagonal basalt columns is breathtaking. The Atlantic was particularly feisty today, sending spray and foam over the dark rocks. It’s a place that feels ancient and powerful, as if the very earth has sculpted this incredible coastline.
I tried to capture the energy of the waves crashing against the formations, with the receding tide revealing the intricate patterns of the basalt. The sky was a mix of blue and dramatic clouds, adding to the moody atmosphere. It's moments like these, feeling the sea spray and hearing the roar of the ocean, that truly make you appreciate the wild beauty of this part of the United Kingdom.
