Tunis Blue Shutters
The soul of Tunis is captured in the striking contrast of its white walls and the electric blue of its traditional shutters, a timeless scene under the North African sun.
The Story
Wandering through the medina of Tunis, I was immediately drawn to the bold, almost graphic simplicity of this building. The stark white stucco, illuminated by the intense sun, created a perfect canvas for the vibrant blue shutters. It felt like stumbling upon a hidden gem, a moment of pure visual poetry in the heart of the city.
There was a palpable sense of history in the air, but also a feeling of vibrant life. The sharp shadows and the deep blue sky spoke of a warm, clear day, the kind that invites you to explore every corner. This image, for me, embodies the essence of Tunisian architecture – elegant, enduring, and full of character.

How it lives on a wall

A geometric study,
of Tunis's blue.
