Sunol Stone Sentinel

The Story

I was hiking along Vista Grande Road in Sunol, California, on a beautiful spring day, when I stumbled upon this incredibly atmospheric stone structure. It felt like stepping back in time. The way the rough stone contrasted with the vibrant, almost impossibly green hills was just captivating.

I crouched low to the ground to emphasize the foreground grass and really make the stone structure pop against the backdrop of the undulating landscape. The sky was a perfect, cloudless blue, typical of a clear California day. It was one of those moments where you feel completely at peace with the world and the history held within the land.

It's a scene that speaks to the enduring spirit of the land and the remnants of human presence that become part of the natural tapestry over time. A true hidden gem in Alameda County.
