The Story

Standing on the water, looking back towards the shore, the San Fruttuoso Abbey is an absolutely breathtaking sight. It feels like stepping back in time, with the ancient stone buildings nestled right against the sparkling blue of the Mediterranean. The pebble beach is a calm haven, dotted with people enjoying the sun, and the steep, verdant hills behind the abbey provide a dramatic backdrop.

I was immediately struck by the unique setting of this place. It's so secluded, almost a secret discovered by the sea. The light was perfect that day, highlighting the textures of the stone and the deep greens of the forest.
