Moss-Kissed Branch

The Story

Standing on the Stevens Creek Trail in Cupertino, California, I was drawn upwards by the sight of this magnificent oak. The sheer abundance of vibrant green moss coating its ancient branches was incredible, creating a surreal, almost otherworldly texture. The light was doing something special, filtering down through the canopy and making the moss glow.

I tilted my camera up, focusing on the intricate details of the branch where it had split, revealing the rough wood beneath the soft, verdant carpet. The background blurred into a gentle bokeh of greens and subtle autumnal tones, hinting at the season. It was a moment of quiet contemplation, a reminder of the persistent life and beauty found in the natural world, even in a place as seemingly developed as the South Bay Area.
