Pompeii Floor Mosaic

The Story

Standing in Pompeii, I was completely captivated by the floors beneath my feet. They are not just pathways, but masterpieces of ancient design. This particular mosaic, with its thousands of tiny triangular stones, is a testament to the incredible skill and aesthetic sensibilities of the people who lived here.

The way the light catches the varied textures and colours of the stone – from deep reds and greens to warm ochres and blues – is mesmerizing. It's easy to imagine Roman citizens walking across these very patterns, their lives unfolding against this backdrop of enduring beauty.
