The Story
I stood here in Pompeii, Italy, on a crisp December afternoon. The light was absolutely incredible, that low, golden hour sun that just ignites the ancient brick and stone. It’s moments like these that make you feel so connected to the past.
The way the light hit that fluted column on the left, it was almost blindingly bright, creating such a dramatic contrast with the more muted tones of the wall where the statues stood. Seeing those figures, so perfectly sculpted and yet so weathered, felt like a direct conversation with the people who lived here centuries ago.
